Grey matter
Ex-eastender, Lucy Benjamin, was photographed recently with noticeably grey roots. At just 39 years old, many have critised her for being too young to show her ‘true colours’.
It’s extremely unusual for mature women in their 40’s to freely and proudly show off their silver locks. Older men however, seem to be able to pull it off rather well and often it even enhances their appearance giving them a handsome, rugged ‘silver fox’ look.
Ironically the younger generation are voluntarily dying their hair grey in order to keep up with the fads of the catwalks; many designers such as Dior styled their models with smoky lock.
Unfortunately until more people in the public eye decide to leave the dye and tinfoil behind, it is unlikely that mature ladies will feel comfortable letting their grey tresses shine.
